SIMEON "VAN HASSELT" QSYEA

Simeon Qsyea is a London based film director and choreographer. Simeon studied Film & Video at Richmond Upon Thames, gained a scholarship at Urdang Academy and graduated from The Place in 2009 with a BA Hons degree. Highly respected for his vast knowledge of dance and movement, he is recognised for his innovative approach to creative movement in numerous mediums including Music, Fashion, Theatre, Award Shows, Live Events, Television and Film.

Ella Eyre, Dizzie Rascal, Will.I.AM, Alexandra Burke, JLS,  Kyan , BAFTA Awards Ceremony, MTV Awards, MOBO Awards, T4 on the Beach and The Brit Awards, “So You Think You Can Dance?”, as well as having choreographed key commercial campaigns such as Ariel’s 100 dance, JD Sports “Undisputed Christmas” and multi award-winning advert Quiet comfort 35; Get Closerby BOSE, Red bull, Nokia. Simeon can be seen on screen as an Expert Judge on TV talent show “Taking the Next Step”
Some of SImeons work led to the creation of a film campaign in collaboration with Southbank Centre “White Girl / Black Girl & Everything Inbetween which is an adaptation of a theatre show. More credits include Cirque Bijou, Bella Kinetic, Cirque el moi, Breaking Convention, SK Shlomo, a Company of Elders amongst a range of theatres worldwide. ​Most recently Simeon worked on “Magnificent Melodic Machine” ( at the O2),  “Pop” (at The Round house) and  directed “Stripped”, a theatre show starring John Partridge.
